diy garland for round mirror

Garland is one of my favorite holiday decorations. It’s so simple but can instantly transform a space, and it works with so many different design styles. Round mirrors are another classic design piece, so I combined them both for a Pinterest-worthy look, and all it cost me was $2.50 for some floral wire at Michaels. I used the trimmings from the bottom of our Christmas tree, but you can also buy a small bunch of pine-y greenery at Trader Joe’s or the grocery store for fairly cheap if you don’t have any or if you’re in the faux tree camp.

extra tree trimmings

Make use of those extra pieces cut off the bottom of the tree, or grab a bundle at the store.

scissors + floral wire

All you need is some floral wire from a craft store or Amazon, and a pair of scissors.

tie branches together

You can do your first layer with with the backside facing up so that you can allow the branches to bend with their natural curve.

keep tying

Face some smaller branches up for the top layer and secure to curved bottom layer with floral wire to create a fuller look.

secure to wall

I used one big nail right in the middle, and then two smaller ones on each side of it. Don’t worry if they show (we’ll cover them next) just make sure it will stay on the wall!

cover those nails

Use some small pieces to cover up the nails. You can use floral wire if needed, but sometimes they’ll just stick into the existing garland and stay put on their own.
